Originally a trumpet player trained in classics and jazz.
First rock band experience was with the horn section of a “Chicago”
cover band.
Since the first time I heard BB King, I knew I wanted to play
guitar in a blues band.
Influences;
Robert Johnson, T- bone Walker, BB King, Buddy Guy, Howlin
Wolf, Eric Clapton,
Elmore James, and Paul Butterfield to name a few.





Clayton resident for 30 years, guitar player for 9.
First influenced by the rocking style of Johnny Winter. Later coming to appreciate the early players such as Robert Johnson. The unmistakable sound of Stevie Ray Vaughn introduced the blues to a whole new generation of fans.
Major contemporary influences would include Albert Collins, Coco Montoya, Joe Bonamasa, Freddie King.

I bought my first harmonica in 1970 and haven’t stopped playing
Harp since.
I get told it sounds pretty good but I’m still trying to figure
out how to play the damn thing.
Played with the Beal Street Blues Band in SF for 3 years.
Played with many other local bands, jams, open mics, parties
dances, weddings etc.
Helped put together “Blue Yonder” blues band. Nothing but fun!

40+years playing professionally in Big Bands, small Combos, on the road at age 18 playing across the country. Settled in Pleasant Hill while continuing to play locally on and off full time.

Cannonball Adderley, Stan Kenton, Oscar Peterson, Horace Silver,
BB King...various Jazz artists.
Really enjoy working with fellow musicians who have lay back
wonderful personalities and a great sense of humor.
It really feels like a family.
